Finally! Back in the darkroom. I haven't taken any courses within my concentration for a while trying to get all of the core curriculum out of the way. For this assignment we had to incorporate a person and an object. I kind of went back and forth with how I was going to develop this project. I wanted to incorporate the hair on a person with the hair on different fruit to tie the two together. Once I got shooting it started to feel more like an Edward Weston feel with the close up fruit shots. Where you don't know what it is exactly and you don't really know how to interpret it. I hope to develop more with this project.
Edward Weston... part of his pepper series. There was much controversy about these pieces because of how abstract he made just a simple pepper look. Many thought it was so human like and sexual... I'm not sure if that was his intent or not but I have a feeling that is exactly what he was going for. Trying to get some sort of an uproar! :)
I am attaching my contact sheets and a few images. There are a few keepers but the idea definitely needs more nurturing.
The last roll above got ruined in processing somehow but it made some cool effects I want to print them large to see how they look. The last few rows I want to do more of they look really cool printed but I want the negatives perfect.
